The Y-PEER Globally Advisory Board (GAB) Meeting 2016 ! took place this year in the Dead Sea, Jordan, on the 2-5 June. UNFPA Regional Offices in Arab States and Eastern Europe and Central Asia in collaboration with Y-PEER International Center for Youth Development (ICYD) hosted by National Center for Culture and Arts of Jordan has out their most efforts to make Y-PEER GAB possible. Representatives of 27 country networks were brought together to discuss global advocacy, work in humanitarian settings, implement peer to peer approach to the programs targeting young key population and many other topics which are playing a big role in our communities today. All participants had the chance to share good practices, change perspectives into different fields of work taking into account widening the scope of activities, including young key population and marginalized youth. Furthermore next three years Strategic Plan of Y-PEER was debated and developed during the meeting.
Undoubtedly, this step is crucial for the network as Y-PEER in registering as Foundation that requires stronger and effective planning for the network's sustainability. The emerging leadership has been discussed and follow up actions are being taken on accountability and sustainability in country networks. All participants experienced new subjects, built a team spirit in order to continue to make our societies a better place to live in. All Y-PEERians are curious about upcoming activities and campaigns in 2016-2017 and anticipating to input for the development of this life changing network!
