Y-PEER at Women Deliver 2016

16.05.2016
Y-PEER at Women Deliver 2016 Women Delivers 4th Global Conference, took place 16-19 May 2016 and was the largest gathering on girls and womens health and rights in the last decade and one of the first major global conferences following the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
One of the most best approaches at this Women Deliver was used is WD Young Leaders program where we had about 20 Y-PEER members coming from different regions, supported by Women Deliver and UNFPA. Y-PEER representation was widely visible as two International Coordinators (Aiza & Sharaf) together with five FPCs, PETRI Fellow and more than 10 other members of national networks, were on board.
Women Delivers conferences have become some of the worlds biggest global convenings to focus on the health, rights, and wellbeing of girls and women. Building on the successes of Women Delivers three previous global gatherings-in London in2007, in Washington in 2010, and in Kuala Lumpur in 2013-the 2016 Conference will bring together world leaders, advocates, policymakers, journalists, young people, researchers, and leaders of corporate companies and civil society to showcase what it means and how it works when girls and women become the focus of development efforts.
